You were looking for
shelter from the heat. Now you're sitting in a small bar, and you're watching the
desert winds play with the hot sand outside. Nobody is on the street. You hear
girl's laughter from another room. The only one you see is the old bartender who
just brought you another drink. It's awfully hot, and you wish the night would come and bring
some cool wind.
If there were a music box in the bar, it would probably play songs from Calexico.
Calexico is a project by Joey Burns and John Convertino. John and Joey are not
only members of Giant Sand but have also played with Victoria Williams, Barbara
Manning, Bill Janovitz, Richard Buckner and many others. It's hard to believe
that they find the time for their own CDs, but in an interview they said "We're
cloned. We couldn't make this without clones."
