Karen Dalton release + Love Story US Premieres

Two quick updates… first, our friends at Delmore Recordings will release Karen Dalton’s “Green Rocky Road” on June 10. This is a follow up to last year’s “Cotton Eyed Joe”, which received rave reviews. Both releases provide a rare glimpse of Karen circa 1962 and 1963 at her most pure, most powerful, and at ease.

Secondly, Start Productions’ LOVE STORY is coming to the U.S. with three dates: two in California and one in New York. For more info, visit here.

Karen Dalton

Cool, our friend Mark has announced: “Delmore Recordings is proud and excited to announce the release of a double album of previously unheard and unheard of KAREN DALTON live recordings from 1962. Also included and not on the import version is a DVD of live performances. Check out “Cotton Eyed Joe: The Loop Tapes” and the great reviews that it has garnered.

PRAISE FOR KAREN DALTON:

“My favorite singer in the place was Karen Dalton. She was a tall white blues singer and guitar player, funky, lanky, and sultry. I’d actually met her before, run across her the previous summer outside of Denver in a mountain pass town in a folk club. Karen had a voice like Billie Holliday’s and played guitar like Jimmy Reed and went all the way with it. I sang with her a couple of times.” - Bob Dylan on the Cafe Wha?, Chronicles Volume One, pg 12

”She is my favorite female blues singer.” - Nick Cave

“Without a doubt, she is my favorite singer.” - Devendra Banhart

”She sure can sing the sh*t out of the blues.” - Fred Neil
